- All New Carnival Games with
Prizes
- We have a number of games to delight both young and old. A
variety of skills will be required to play and win these games.
Try your hand at such games as: Gone Fishing, Dolphin Ring Toss,
Touchdown Pass, Monster Toss, Lucky Number, Duck Pond, and Hoop It Up.
|
|
 |
Face Painting
- Our
junior artists will be back at it creating individual works of art on
the cheeks of our youngest visitors. A variety of fun, colorful
designs assure something for everyone.
|
|
 |
Kid's Coloring Corner
The kids just love the opportunity to color, and our designers have
been busy this winter creating new railroad and holiday themed designs on which they can
show off their artistic flair.
|
 |
Miniature Train Ride
- Our miniature train ride is an amusement ride from the early 1950's
that has been fully refurbished and is now one of the center
pieces of the kiddie carnival. The steam locomotive pulls three
cars around a circle of track. Kids will love the train which is
more their size than the train they rode from Spooner to the Pumpkin
Patch.
|
 |
Kid's Bounce House
- A hit with the younger kids. They will have the chance to
bounce for a period between their miniature train ride and all of the
other activities that will keep them moving and the hour fly by.
|
 |
Pedal Carousel
- This ride was brought in specially for the little tykes and will
give them an opportunity to take a ride back to the wild west. The
more they pedal, the more this people powered ride will turn.
|
 |
Golden Spike Drive
- Test your skill at swinging the Spike Maul and see if you have the
talent to become a member of the Gandy Dancer Gang. Winners will
receive a symbolic membership card.
|
| |
Self-Guided Nature Walk
- The old railroad bridge over the Namekagon River is only a few
hundred yards from the Big Top at Trego Jct., and offers a
spectacular view of the Wild River. The National Park Service
Visitors Center is also a short walking distance away. Ask for a
map with directions inside the Big Top.
|
|
 |
Marshmallow Roast
- Always one of the most popular events, everyone will have the chance
to roast 'em just the way they like 'em. This will be one
of a handful of outdoor events so please dress accordingly.
|
|
 |
Motor Car Rides
- The
popular motor car rides will again be offered giving visitors a chance
to take a short trip on these cute little self-propelled inspection
cars. Originally used by the railroads to inspect track, these
cars were replaced in the past decade by pick-up truck outfitted with
railroad wheels.
|
|
 |
And Of Course, FREE Pumpkins
- Near the end of our stay at the Great Pumpkin Patch each child has
the opportunity to select a FREE pumpkin to take home. The
Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad will have approximately 4,000
pumpkins from which to choose.

Treats and Eats
Beverages and regular meals including
hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst, chili, hobo stew and more are available at our

Rain or Shine
We have a variety of canopies and train
cars to seek refuge if the weather is inclement. We will also continue to have
warming campfires outside to keep you toasty on a chilly day. Of
course, everyone should dress for the weather.
Gifts and Snacks
Our store on wheels is on every train and
offers a wide selection of gifts in the on-board gift shop. From
T-shirts to games, buttons to lanterns we have something for
everyone. Beverages, chips, candy bars, and crackers are also
available.
